The 2025 debut in Realme’s lineup is a pair of Bluetooth sports earphones positioned in the mid-range price segment. This in-ear model features a neckband that houses, among other things, the microphones (five in total) and the battery, delivering up to 38 hours of runtime. Another design touch is magnetic attachment of the earbuds to each other to simplify carrying and storage, preventing cable tangling.
The Realme Buds Wireless 5 ANC come with 13.6 mm dynamic drivers and active noise cancellation. The latter reaches up to 50 dB with three levels of external noise reduction—from fairly quiet rooms to a busy street or station platform. The microphones also have their own noise reduction to improve speech clarity and overall call quality. Other perks include low audio latency (down to 45 ms), which suits gaming. The model also supports Multipoint, Transparency mode, convenient on-band volume adjustment without a phone, and solid water resistance—IP55. A full charge takes one hour, and there’s also fast top-up—10 minutes for 20 hours of music listening.

The sound periodically disappears for 0.5-2 seconds, and also approximately every 2-3 minutes changes pitch down for a few seconds and then back (similar to the warping of an old audio tape). It's terrible, such a good company and such defective headphones. And it's not just an unlucky unit - I bought 3 different colors for my family, and all 3 have these issues. Frankly, a defective model. Shame on Realme. Battery, transparent/noise-canceling mode, magnetic on/off switch. Defective software. Serious sound failures. Scarily loud discharge sound. Primitive design. |
The charging indicator is always green. It blinks when charging and stays steady when charged. It wouldn't be so hard to change the color instead of blinking, like many other brands do. The boxes with contents are angular, as are the buttons. They look bad, but it's easier to tell which one to press by touch. But these are minor and debatable complaints. However, there is one specific reason I don't recommend this model: * When the charge is low, the headphones emit a very annoying two-part sound at full (damn) volume. I'm not deaf, and I use them at around 20% - 30% of the total volume. This sound is really startling, as it's not tied to the current volume, always sudden, and much louder. Tactile buttons, sound quality, good battery, fast charging, magnetic switch. Boxy design, unpleasant "on/off" sound, unpleasant and disturbingly loud "time to charge" sound. |
Compared to similar headphones by CMF, the transparency mode is significantly better, while the noise cancellation (active noise suppression) is noticeably worse. Truly transparent mode, pure sound. Less active noise reduction, non-rounded casing design filling. |
