— this category includes all wireless capable headphones that are not true wireless (see the relevant paragraph). It can be both purely wireless and combined models that can also work in a wired way. However, anyway, devices from this category are convenient primarily due to the absence of a wire, which limits mobility and can get confused at hand; and their communication range can reach several tens of metres. Compared to true wireless, classic wireless ears are bulkier — but noticeably harder to lose. The disadvantages of such models include, first of all, the high cost and limited time of continuous operation — wireless headphones operate from their own power sources (usually batteries), the energy supply of which is not infinite.Note that different communication methods can be used for wireless signal transmission — most often Bluetooth, less often a radio channel, extremely rarely an IR channel. Each of these methods has its own nuances, advantages and disadvantages; see "Connection interface" for details.
