Vacuum headphones

— tiny headphones that, when used, are inserted directly into the auditory canals, deep into the ear (this is different from the earbuds, which are located on the auricle, but outside the auditory canals). This design combines compactness and advanced performance: in-ear “ears” are often comparable to overhead ones in terms of sound volume and bass saturation, and the degree of sound insulation is very high (many models can even be used as impromptu earplugs). On the other hand, complete isolation from external sounds can sometimes be a disadvantage — for example, when riding a bicycle or walking along a busy street. It should also be taken into account that such headphones are poorly suited for long-term wear: tightly clogged auditory canals are not cleaned of dirt, which is fraught with hearing problems.
Note that the design options for intracanal models are very diverse: most often they do not have special fasteners, however, there are options with fastenings for the ears or on the neck, as well as with rigid temples (see "Additionally").
