Sweeping zoom lens for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras that allows you to shoot in a wide range of focal lengths from 50 to 400mm. At the same time, the maximum aperture value changes within f / 4.5-6.3. The built-in VC (Vibration Compensation) stabilizer is called to compensate for the lack of aperture. Behind the VCD abbreviation in the expanded model name is a linear Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive autofocus drive with support for continuous manual DMF control.

At a focal length of 50 mm, the lens is focused from a distance of 25 cm. Shooting can be done at a scale of 1:2. The optical design of the Tamron 50-400 f / 4.5-6.3 VC VXD Di III is extremely complex - it consists of 24 elements in 18 groups. The diaphragm of the model is rounded, 9-bladed. Given such a sweeping coverage of focal lengths, the lens turned out to be relatively compact and not heavy - its dimensions are 183 mm in length, and its weight is 1155 g. Together with the model, it is supposed to use filters with a diameter of 67 mm.
