An optical circuit of 21 elements in 15 groups was packed into the body of the model, and a linear VXD autofocus motor (Voice-coil eXtreme-Torment Drive) is also installed in it. The drive provides fast and accurate focusing in automatic mode. At the minimum focal length, the lens focuses from a distance of 33 cm, at the telephoto zoom position - from 85 cm. The aperture of the model is rounded, it consists of 9 blades. The multi-purpose zoom housing provides a Connector Port interface for connecting to a computer. Through the TAMRON Lens Utility, you can change the direction of the focus ring, assign the aperture control function to it, reprogram the focus hold button and update the lens firmware. The model adds about 1165 g to the weight of the “carcass” of the camera.
