A fundamentally updated "gun" from Tamron with coverage of the long-range focal length range of 70-200 mm and the same maximum aperture throughout the zoom range f / 2.8. The model will cope with reportage, wedding, portrait shooting and will be a good choice for landscape photography. It has a new autofocus motor that locks on to the target with lightning speed and uses an optical stabilization system with an efficiency of 5 stops of exposure.

The optical design of the Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 consists of as many as 23 elements in 17 groups. It incorporates five LD elements and one XLD lens. The model also uses special BBAR and EBAND lens coatings, which increase image contrast and eliminate glare. The minimum focus distance for the lens is 95 cm. Its weight is almost 1.5 kg, and its length reaches 19 cm. The lens body is protected from the weather by many sealing rings. The model's front lens accepts any of the appropriate 77mm filters.
