A powerful zoom lens for long-range photography, designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras with a Sony E-mount bayonet mount. The model covers a range of focal lengths of 150-500 mm, the maximum aperture of the lens varies from f / 5 at the short end to f / 6.7 at the telephoto zoom position. The Tamron 150-500mm F5-6.7 Di III VC VXD is equipped with a Vibration Compensation camera shake correction mechanism with three modes of operation: normal, pan, frame priority.

Autofocus uses a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-moment Drive). At a minimum focal length of 150 mm, the zoom lens is focused from a distance of 60 cm. The optical design of the model contains 25 elements in 16 groups. It incorporates special elements for complete control of aberrations: one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) lens, five LD (Low Dispersion) elements and two hybrid aspherical lenses. Close protection when shooting is provided by proprietary enlightenment BBAR G2. The lens weighs 1.72 kg, another 156 g is added to its mass by a tripod foot with an Arca-Swiss mount.
