The flagship mirrorless camera with a full frame image sensor for advanced photographers and videographers. The camera has got a completely new 33-megapixel Exmor R matrix with backlight technology. As expected, the sensor is located on a movable stabilizing platform that provides shutter speed or exposure compensation up to 5.5 stops (according to CIPA standards). The native sensitivity range of the matrix is measured in the range from 100 to 51200 ISO units.
By software, it can be "rocked" in the range of 50-204800 units. Hybrid autofocus in the arsenal of the Sony A7 IV body has 759 phase detection points and 425 contrast points. Focus is possible on the faces and eyes of people, muzzles of animals and even the eyes of birds. The maximum speed of burst photography on the camera is 10 fps. This buffers over 800 uncompressed RAW files. In terms of video shooting from the full width of the matrix, you can record 4K video at up to 30 fps, and from the APS-C area - 4K at 60 fps.
At the same time, support for 10-bit colour, 4:2:2 subsampling, S-Log3 with a range of up to 14 steps, HLG and proprietary S-Cinetone is claimed. The touch screen of the camera is mounted on a swivel joint. A separate plus in the mirrorless karma is the increased resolution of the OLED viewfinder screen (3.69 million pixels). When the camera is turned off, the sensor is closed by a shutter, which is useful when changing lenses and protects the "insides" of the camera from dust.
