Panasonic DC-GH7 body
![]() |
Top-level video-oriented mirrorless camera based on a Micro 4/3 format sensor with a 2x crop factor. Its 25.2 MP resolution is similar to the previous generation model, the DC-GH6, but the sensor architecture has been drastically changed — the sensor features back-illuminated technology and a built-in hybrid phase-detection autofocus system. Additionally, the data readout speed has been increased and the dynamic range has been expanded to 13+ stops of exposure.
The in-camera stabilizer provides compensation up to 7.5 stops of shutter speed or exposure. Video recording on the Panasonic DC-GH7 kit 12-60 is done at a maximum quality of 5.7K using ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes RAW HQ. More traditional 4K video is recorded at 60 fps with 10-bit color representation and 4:2:2 subsampling. The mirrorless camera is capable of simultaneously recording to the internal CFexpress Type B card and an external recorder via a full-sized HDMI port.
Notably, there is 32-bit audio recording, for which an additional XLR microphone adapter DMW-XLR2 is required. The camera's autofocus system uses advanced AI object recognition algorithms. The model also features an active cooling system for maximum extended shooting without compromising the dust and moisture protection of the body. The kit configuration of the camera comes with a versatile 12-60mm f/3.5-6.3 zoom lens.

Flagship mirrorless camera for videographers
The Panasonic DC-GH7 is deservedly considered a true flagship among mirrorless models with a Micro 4/3 image sensor, aimed primarily at videographers.
Micro 4/3 matrix
This device has a completely new matrix with a resolution of 25.2 MP, which has backlighting and phase sensors for autofocus. The camera's autofocus copes much better with scenes with complex lighting, as well as with tracking moving objects. Additionally, "smart" artificial intelligence algorithms help track people, animals and various vehicles in the frame.
Wide range of video shooting options
The Panasonic DC-GH7 offers an in-camera matrix image stabilization system that demonstrates the effectiveness of up to 7.5 shutter or exposure stops. The camera allows you to record video in a resolution of up to 5.7K (5776x4336 at 30 fps) in ProRes 422 HQ or ProRes RAW HQ formats. Footage can be saved to a CFExpress type B card, and you can also shoot on an external recorder via a full-size HDMI port. In addition, the model supports recording 4:2:2 10-bit 4K video at 60 fps, and with 4:2:0 subsampling, the frame rate can increase to 120 fps.
Advanced cooling system
The camera is equipped with a cooling system with graphite plates and an active fan, which eliminates limitations on the time of continuous video shooting. The model also provides full protection against dust and moisture. In general, the Panasonic DC-GH7 offers a wide range of tools for videographers, including support for the Lumix Lab application for creating custom LUTs (color profiles). Particular attention should be paid to the ability to record 32-bit floating-point audio when using an optional XLR microphone adapter. Panasonic DC-GH7 is a top-end mirrorless camera focused on video shooting.
