The second generation of a charged full-frame mirrorless camera with a 45.7 MP multi-megapixel image sensor for maximum frame detail. The matrix, fixed on a movable stabilizing platform, was borrowed from its predecessor. Also Nikon Z7 II body has not changed in appearance. A cardinal innovation is the use of two high-performance EXPEED 6 processors for image and video processing at once.

The result of their implementation was an increase in the amount of memory buffer (now it can accommodate up to 77 RAW-images), burst photography speed (up to 10 fps), responsiveness and speed of work mirrorless in general. The sensitivity range of the image sensor is 64-25600 ISO, it can be extended to 32-102400 ISO by software. The camera is focused using a 493-point automatic focus system, which combines phase and contrast type sensors under its wing.

The model is equipped with a high-definition OLED viewfinder, a 3.2-inch diagonal touch screen on a swivel hinge, two slots for installing memory cards (one is designed for XQD flash drives, the second for UHS-II SD cards). The full-frame mirrorless camera supports remote control from a smartphone via Wi-Fi, boasts support for 4K video recording at 60 fps, and in general, the camera outperforms clumsy DSLRs on all fronts. In the “Body” configuration, the camera is supplied without an interchangeable lens. Optics with Nikon Z bayonet mounts (mounted directly) and Nikon F (via a special adapter) fit it.
