Fast full-frame prime lens from the category of relatively affordable optics for the Sony E-mount mount. The model is assembled in a compact case with dimensions of 66x73 mm and a weight of about 280 g. It is made of aluminium and plastic. From the controls on the "carcass" of the lens, a wide focus ring and a focus lock button with switching to manual aiming mode are available. Inside the Sony FE 35mm F1.8 waterproof case, there is an optical part consisting of 11 elements in 9 groups (including one aspherical lens to reduce chromatic aberrations).

The aperture of the lens is rounded, structurally consists of 9 petals. The model is focused from a distance of 22 cm. The linear drive of the autofocus system is responsible for fast and accurate focus. The best 35mm lens in the system
Sharp, fast, light, compact, and not costing a fortune. Bonus: a customizable button on the side.
No particular issues, a bit of chromatic aberration when wide open, and the corners are not the sharpest when wide open.

First things first. Since the 24-70GM appeared in my life, I have simply enjoyed the additional keys on the lens and consider it an incredibly convenient thing. It doesn’t take up much space, it’s easy to work with both cropped and full frame. Autofocus is accurate, does not wander when shooting video, and is good at tracking autofocus. I didn’t notice any chromaticity; although there is distortion, it is minimal even compared to many 50mm lenses.

A bright alternative to the 35f2.8 that Sony FF owners have been waiting for a long time.

2 tests for 1.5-2 hours and the decision to sell the FE 35f2.8 zeiss was made. A master class was held in my city where Sony brought their new products. The cameras didn't interest me much. I came here to test the 35mm f1.8. The size is not much larger than my 35f2.8. Based on the results of filming in the studio in natural light, I realized that I would not return to my lens.
Light power + compactness.
Build quality and autofocus motor speed. I had my eye on the FE 50mm f/1.8 for a long time, but I was put off by its plastic body and slow motor. The 35mm f/1.8 FE reminded me of the Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 in terms of body, but it's much lighter and smaller.
Price. I thought that at launch this lens would be more than 70 thousand rubles.
