A well-balanced, full-size mid-range overclocker ATX motherboard based on the 2020 AMD B550 chipset. Equipped with AMD AM4 processor socket, able to work correctly with 4/6/8/12/16-core Ryzen 3000 processors with Matisse/Matisse Refresh cores (7nm) and Ryzen 4000 APUs (Renoir core, 7nm). The manufacturer is positioning itself as a product of the middle price category, designed to create overclocking and gaming systems designed for connection to high-speed 2.5GbE LAN cable networks.
The striking exterior design of the ASRock B550 Steel Legend motherboard and ASRock Polychrome Sync LED controllable lighting will leave modding enthusiasts indifferent. This model is equipped with a powerful 14-phase digital power subsystem with additional aluminium heatsinks for successful operation of processors in the significant overclocking mode. Supports up to 128 GB of DDR4 RAM (up to 4733 MHz), which is more than enough for any games and resource-intensive professional applications. Supports the connection of two M.2 SSDs, one of which is equipped with a heat sink and is capable of working with a high-speed PCI-E Gen 4.0 interface.
The Snow Queen
ASRock B550 Steel Legend is one of the most balanced mid-price motherboards for AM4 processor socket. Made in white and decorated with built-in ARGB-backlight, which is synchronized with other PC components through the ASRock Polychrome application. She has an analogue in dark colours — ASRock B550 Extreme4.
cold metal
The processor power circuit consists of 14 phases (10 directly to the processor cores and 4 more to additional chip components). All mosfets, without exception, are covered with an aluminium radiator. Also, both M.2 disk slots are equipped with heatsinks, and the bottom one is combined with the chipset heatsink.
high speed interface
The top PCI-E x16 graphics card slot is metal-reinforced to support the weight of even a flagship graphics card and runs on the fast PCI-E 4.0 bus. The same applies to the upper M.2 (up to 64 Gbps). The lower M.2 is limited to only two PCI-E 3.0 lanes (up to 16 Gbps). But installing a second M.2 SSD does not disable half of the SATA3 connectors.
One piece construction
The rear interface panel plug is attached directly to the decorative casing — this is a panacea for both forgetfulness when assembling a PC and dust already during operation. The ASRock B550 Steel Legend audio path combines the top-end Realtek ALC1220 audio codec and Texas Instruments headphone amplifier. The network is represented by 2.5-gigabit Ethernet and an M.2 Key-E slot for Wi-Fi.
