![]() |
A well-equipped and compact 2020 mini-ITX motherboard based on the mid-range AMD B550 chipset. Equipped with an AMD AM4 processor socket, it is positioned as an affordable mid-range model. Designed for the assembly of universal home, office and multifunctional HTPC systems. Due to its compact dimensions (170x170 mm) it can be installed in SFF, mini-ITX and microATX cases. It features support for the latest versions of system / peripheral interfaces and rich communication capabilities that are provided by the Realtek GbE LAN adapter and the built-in dual-band Intel Wi-Fi 5 (802.11n / ac) module with Bluetooth 4.2 (High speed class II) support.
ASRock B550M-ITX/ac motherboard is guaranteed to be compatible with Ryzen 3000 (Matisse/Matisse Refresh, 7nm) and Ryzen 4000G (Renoir, 7nm) APUs. Equipped with a digital 8-phase Digital VRM power subsystem with a developed aluminium radiator. Two slots for installing DDR4 memory modules provide support for a total volume of up to 64 GB, which will be enough for any household and most professional tasks, as well as comfortable gaming. Thanks to the support of overclocking functions, it can be used for moderate CPU and RAM overclocking (without a significant increase in supply voltages).

An excellent foundation for an affordable SFF (Small Form Factor) AM4 build
If you’re thinking about putting together a modern compact PC without overspending, the AM4 platform still looks like an appealing option. Even though official support has ended, the broad availability of parts lets you build a powerful system with a Ryzen 7 5800X, fast Gen4 SSDs, and a large amount of RAM, all inside a stylish, budget-friendly case like the Cooler Master MasterBox NR200P. As the motherboard, a well-balanced choice in price and features could be the ASRock B550M-ITX/ac.
Support for Gen4 SSD and DDR4-4733 RAM
The ASRock B550M-ITX/ac is a compact mid-range board that doesn’t belong to the brand’s signature lineups and sits between budget office models and pricier gaming solutions. Based on the B550 chipset, it supports one high-speed SSD with a PCIe 4.0 interface, one graphics card, and up to 64 GB of DDR4 memory at up to 4733 MHz. There’s also a built-in wireless module, and among the ports you’ll find USB-C, albeit limited to 5 Gbps.
Good, but not perfect
Despite its relatively low price, the ASRock B550M-ITX/ac isn’t without drawbacks. Even with 8 power phases, the implementation noticeably trails more expensive mini-ITX boards from the Phantom Gaming or Steel Legend series. The modest VRM heatsink also isn’t designed for serious overclocking, especially with high-TDP Ryzen chips and aggressive PBO in the constrained cooling of a compact case. In addition, user reviews frequently mention the mediocre performance of the built-in Wi‑Fi module.
