Casio G-Shock is perhaps the most popular series of indestructible wristwatches on a global scale, with a circulation of over 100 million copies. The first shockproof models from the collection left the assembly line in 1983. Today, the family presents a huge variety of watches with an eye on the male audience, in particular, for athletes, lovers of extreme recreation, etc.
When developing the series, the Japanese engineers of Casio were guided by the concept of "three dozen": the battery life is 10 years, the watch is water resistant at a pressure of up to 10 bar, and can also withstand drops from a height of up to 10 metres. Modern models from the G-Shock league easily achieve these indicators — for example, water protection for almost all watches in the family is claimed at the level of WR 200.
Casio G-Shock is a cult collection of indestructible watches from the famous Japanese brand. |
Models with pointer, electronic and combined dials successfully coexist within the collection. They also differ in appearance — the classics of the genre from the Original sub-series will fit a business suit, but the brutal watches of the Mudmaster sub-family are more appropriate in extreme operating conditions. The Casio G-Shock onboard equipment ranges from the basic one with a couple of auxiliary dial windows to the “full hardware” package, which includes auto-illumination of the dial, solar charging, self-calibration via radio signals or GPS, and even a Bluetooth module for synchronization with a smartphone.
