— although plastic is considered by many to be a less "respectable" material than metal, its use in a watch case is not in itself an indication of poor quality — on the contrary, many premium sports models are made from this material. In general, plastic is best suited for sports watches: it is quite light, has quite decent strength characteristics, tolerates and even absorbs shocks, does not corrode and is completely insensitive to moisture. At the same time, such a case can easily be given almost any shape and colour, which facilitates the creation of models in the original design. There are many varieties of plastic, and its quality in a particular watch, usually, directly depends on the price.
