Solar battery

— the presence of a solar battery in the watch — a photocell that generates electricity under the influence of the sun or other bright light source.

Such a battery is usually used in combination with a built-in battery: it charges it, and the “hardware” of the watch is already powered by the battery. However, with a full charge and good external lighting, the mechanism can receive energy directly from the photocell. Anyway, this design eliminates the need to fiddle with replacing replaceable batteries, as well as the cost of purchasing them. However, note that for normal operation, such watches must regularly be in bright light — and this can cause problems, especially in the cold season: in such a season, the days are short, the weather is often cloudy, and besides, the watch itself is usually covered sleeve of clothing. So, before buying a model with this feature, it's ok to clarify how much light the solar battery needs to power the clock normally and whether it will be possible to provide such conditions for it.
