Barometer

— a device for measuring atmospheric pressure. The presence of a barometer actually turns the watch into a portable weather station: its readings not only describe the current weather conditions well, but are also very important for predicting their changes. Therefore, such devices will be useful for those who often have to be outdoors and who are highly dependent on weather conditions — for example, tourists or fishermen. Also note that almost all models with this equipment also have an altimeter function (see the relevant paragraph); but for some watches with an altimeter, the barometer is not indicated in the characteristics. This may mean either using a different principle for measuring altitude (for example, data from a GPS module), or that the barometric sensor "serves" only the altimeter and does not provide outputting pressure data to the watch display.
