At the turn of decades, a new fashion for lightweight mice with a perforated, cheese-like body appeared on the market of gaming manipulators. This seemingly strange approach helped solve several important problems at once. Firstly, the amount of plastic in the case is reduced, which significantly affects the weight of the mouse. Secondly, such a design increases the reliability of the grip, since the mouse slides less in the palm of your hand. Thirdly, the perforated case looks great with the backlight on. As you probably guessed, it is these gaming mice that are included in the Aerox series.
Wait a minute. And what to do with accidentally spilled tea, juice or beer? Everything is captured here. SteelSeries was one of the first companies that was able to make a perforated mouse that is not afraid of liquid. Of course, the IP54 standard will not save it from a liter of spilled water, but a certain amount of liquid that gets inside the case will not affect the performance of the Aerox in any way. SteelSeries does not disclose the technical details of AquaBarrier protection, but they say that mice of this series are not afraid of dust, dirt, oil and fur getting inside the case.
If we put aside the design features, then we will see high-end mice with branded features from other SteelSeries product lines. As a basis, they use TrueMove branded sensors with impressive sensitivity and Kailh switches with an increased pressing resource. The shape of these manipulators is made so that it is equally convenient to fit both the palm and the claw grip. The body weight ranges from 55-70 grams. In-depth adjustment of the backlight and additional keys is made in the proprietary software.
