Following the high-end ROG gaming routers, Asus presented a series of still cool, but slightly more simple and affordable TUF routers with support for Wi-Fi 6 networks in 2021. According to Asus, the TUF router is qualified enough to provide a stable connection over cable and air for dozens of smartphones, laptops, tablets, game consoles and other gadgets that need a network connection. What really, a serious hardware platform based on a multi-core processor and the presence of numerous "long-range" antennas make TUF routers promising candidates for the role of a think tank in a "smart" home with a bunch of IoT equipment.

Each announced TUF model works with the ultra-fast Wi-Fi 6 protocol, which guarantees a number of significant advantages compared to Wi-Fi 5 networks. Unlike previous generations of Wi-Fi, the sixth version of the protocol was made virtually from scratch and is designed for modern realities, when even a vacuum cleaner with a refrigerator and a microwave are connected to the network. Thanks to the integration of the OFDMA protocol, Asus TUF series representatives can simultaneously exchange data with a bunch of connected devices at once without any delay and loss of efficiency. A bandwidth of more than 5 gigabytes allows devices to exchange really large data packets without losing speed.

And while the TUF models don't boast the same set of skills as their older counterparts from the ROG series, they look impressive against the background of most household routers. With support for ASUS AiMesh technology, the user can set up a flexible seamless network using multiple routers. Link Aggregation technology allows you to increase the bandwidth of a wired connection up to 2 Gbps. Often, TUF models are equipped with additional USB ports and LTE / 4G receivers. As for gaming features, most often we are talking about a dedicated LAN port with a traffic prioritization function, as well as presets with key settings for online games and streaming sessions.
