— USB connection version 2.0.All USB adapters are external, they are designed for external PC connectors. This connection method will be especially convenient in cases where disassembling the case is undesirable or impossible (for example, if the PC is still under warranty or if we are talking about a monoblock), or if the adapter has to be reconnected often (for example, if access to Wi-Fi is periodically needed different computers in the same office). Specifically, the USB 2.0 version provides speeds up to 480 Mbps and a relatively low power supply, however, for wireless adapters, even such capabilities are usually enough. So in such equipment, this version of USB is still the most popular — especially since you can connect the adapter to a USB port of a newer version (if the connectors match or there is an appropriate adapter).
