The power and range of modern routers is usually enough to ensure that the signal makes its way even to the farthest corners of the apartment. But what if the area of \u200b\u200bthe room is really large, there are a lot of walls on the way, and the router is not in the best place. For such cases, Asus has a separate line of specialized mesh routers that can be combined into a single seamless Wi-Fi network for the whole house, no matter how big it is. The output is such a "seamless" roaming, when the transition from switching from a node to another occurs automatically.

When designing the Lyra routers, engineers were inspired by astronomy and named the entire series after Lyra, a small constellation in the northern hemisphere. As conceived by the authors, the association with the starry sky emphasizes the principle of the Mesh network, in which several independent routers are combined into a kind of constellation with a seamless Wi-Fi coverage. For greater similarity, most of the routers of this line have a round shape, which from afar resembles a luminous star. Especially for this, RGB LEDs are hidden under a transparent cover, which glow in different colours depending on the connection status. Usually, up to three Lyra routers can be combined within one home network.

You can buy them one by one or two or three at once. All of them support three frequency bands, two of which are dedicated to connected devices, and the third is used for internal communication with each other. The network can be organized in both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with a maximum bandwidth of 867 Mbps. Additional features typically include an additional LAN port, MU-MIMO support, and integration with Alexa voice assistants.
