No Frost freezer
— refrigerators where the freezer is equipped with a No Frost system, but the main chamber does not have such a system
The No Frost function prevents the formation of frost on the chamber walls. The principle of its operation is based on the removal of excess moisture from the air (which, at low temperatures, settles on the walls in the form of frost and ice). To do this, the air is driven by a fan through a special compartment, where moisture condenses, flows into a special tray and evaporates due to the heat from the compressor. This eliminates the need to regularly defrost the refrigerator to clear the ice.
The downside of this convenience is that, due to the operation of No Frost, products without packaging dry out faster, as moisture evaporates from them faster. However, at sub-zero temperatures this phenomenon is very weakly expressed, and for freezers this drawback is not as critical as for refrigeration compartments. Therefore, refrigerators are produced that are equipped with No Frost only in the freezer.
