Model overview based on user reviews
The Intel Core 2 Duo series is praised for its decent performance speed and excellent overclocking capabilities, making it a reliable choice for everyday tasks and older games. Users appreciate its stability and durability, with some models running smoothly for years without issues. The E8400 model, in particular, is noted for its performance, even being compared favorably to newer processors like the i3. However, it is acknowledged that the dual-core design is weaker than quad-core alternatives, and it may struggle with modern gaming demands. Overall, the Intel Core 2 Duo is considered a good value for its price, especially for those not requiring cutting-edge performance.

The processor is not bad, but it's better to have 4 cores instead of two.

Until the price of the new i-series drops to reasonable levels, this model can be considered a very good alternative. But on the other hand, you can look for something with 4 cores for the same money. For example, models from the Q8000 series. And the overclocking potential is quite decent.
I use the E7500 model and must say that the performance is quite sufficient for everyday tasks. With good cooling, you can overclock it to more than 5 GHz. Even in this mode, it doesn't heat up much, so the cooler won't be loud.
There are no drawbacks as such, except that it's more relevant to look at the Core 2 Quad now.

Very worthy model!!!

If you have a lower class percentage, then take it without hesitation.
The computer has been running for over 4 years now, almost non-stop. The CPU cooler stopped 2 times and the radiator was heating up and there was a smell of burnt dust. The thermal protection was triggered and everything worked out. Overclocking was done to 4 GHz. Of all the new games, not a single one slows down.

The processor worth paying attention to
1 March 2011
I bought this for a new computer at home. I put together a computer mainly for work, but so I could play games from at least 2008-2009. As for the processor, I got the Intel Core 2 Duo E7400. The stock cooler is not bad, there’s not much to say; it’s good enough if you don’t plan on overclocking. However, a week later, I decided to overclock it. I overclocked it to 4200 MHz with a system bus frequency of 1600 MHz. As a result, performance increased by 50 percent. Now, my overclocked processor can easily compete with the Core 2 Duo E8300. Worth getting without a second thought.
mid-range processor, decent performance speed, excellent overclocking capabilities
haven't found yet in principle
