The 8-core processor, which replenished the Core i7 Coffee Lake Refresh series in the summer of 2019, belongs to the older solutions from Intel. The CPU is based on a 14nm process, compatible with desktop motherboards with socket LGA 1151 v2. It features low heat dissipation (65 W) and is equipped with a cooler that ensures heat dissipation and uninterrupted operation at temperatures up to 100 °C.
The Intel i7-9700F BOX processor, unlike the model without the F prefix, provides a hardware-disabled graphics core, which will require the purchase of a discrete graphics card when assembling a computer. The clock frequency in normal mode is 3 GHz, and due to the second generation Turbo Boost technology, it can increase to 4.7 GHz. L3 cache headroom for fast data access is 12 MB. The model provides support for DDR4 RAM with a frequency of up to 2666 MHz, and its maximum volume at which the CPU will work correctly is 128 GB.

I bought for 300 dollars the specifications of a PC i7 9700k scalp. Motherboard asus rog maximus X hero wifi ac. RAM G.skill ripjaws 5 2 x 8 3200 timings cl14. Vidyukha 1070 ti from evga sc gaming hybrid. 2 TB screw from VD. SSD on 480 from Kingston. Air be quiet dark rock pro 4. And power also be quiet power pro 11 at 750 watts and Windows 10 pro. Everything is great, performance is top-notch, no problems encountered, temperatures ARE NORMAL! Many people write that it overheats... Dear customers, when you take a processor with overclocking and put a cooler on it with 100-150 TDP... Don't be surprised with stress temperatures of 90-100 degrees. Mine feels great under a Macho SBM at 200W, but ideally, it would be worth it to have a liquid cooler or a cooler with 250-280 TDP if planning manual overclocking of 4.8+ GHz. Although the overclocking frequency can reach 4.9 GHz, this does not compensate for the fact that in turbo boost it reaches 90°+ degrees with a 150W cooler. The price is too high. The clock frequency could have been raised to 3.7-3.8 GHz. Suitable for games, but and here there are punctures. There are no stable 4.9 GHz in games, 4.4-4.6 GHz (in games). Practically a flagship
The Core i7-9700K should be taken as a ninth generation sub-flagship, which is actually not that much different from its older brother, the Core i9-9900K. It has 8 physical cores without multithreading support, operating frequencies of 3.6 — 4.9 GHz and 12 MB of third-level cache. That is, it differs from the flagship model by disabled HyperThreading, a slightly smaller cache and only 100 MHz lower clock speed.

But the most important thing here is the official price of $374, which allows us to consider the novelty as a logical replacement for the Core i7-8700K and Core i7-7700K, which had fewer cores. As for the other popular “octa-core” Ryzen 7 2700X with multithreading support, not everything is clear: multitasking drags mainly in easily parallelized tasks like rendering 3D models or calculating chess positions. In games, on the contrary, it can interfere. Plus, Ryzen has lower operating frequencies and weaker overall gaming performance. However, the money factor plays into his hands: since the announcement, their prices have dropped dramatically and now such a “stone” can be bought for $250. In general, the confrontation between AMD and Intel, as usual, comes down to price versus performance.

Another important innovation of the Core i7-9700K is the use of a new thermal interface material, which, in comparison with conventional polymer thermal paste, has a higher thermal conductivity. Thanks to him, the cooling efficiency of the core has increased and the ceiling of frequencies that can be obtained in overclocking has risen. Well, the conclusion here is this: if you plan to build a powerful gaming or work computer, but are willing to pay within reason, then the new i7-9700K looks like an excellent candidate for the role of the brain of the system.
