Enter in the filter a smartphone up to 6 inches and 90-120 Hz, and you'll see 3 models in the results, two of which are Pixel. The device is great! Numbered Pixels always impress with their tactile feel. You really don't want to let them go. I initially used the XL model, but switched to a smaller version due to memory volume. After the big brother, it's truly amazing how they managed to fit everything into this little one. If you're always in a strong mobile internet coverage area, then 64 GB is not a dealbreaker. But if you travel often and may go without stable internet for a while, then in this case, 64 GB is criminally insufficient. Regarding the battery, Google really missed the mark. It's really small, but the little one shouldn't be counted out just yet. Thanks to my smartwatch, I don't use many features, such as AoD, song recognition, voice assistant call, and a whole bunch of other things, and with them turned off, even with active use, the battery consistently lasts a day, but if you use all its features to the max, then a power bank becomes your eternal companion. Additionally, the phone consumes a lot of battery when photographing due to the constant use of the neural core coprocessor for live view photo preview, so photographers will also find a power bank handy. Overall, even with all its downsides, the device is simply unique. The best camera, compact size, flagship features like 90 Hz, and a bunch of Google's software enhancements keep the device relevant even in mid-2021. And the drawbacks can certainly be managed. * 90Hz display * Miniature size * The best camera for the money in a smartphone * Exclusive smart features of Pixel Experience * Pure Android without third-party software bloat * The tactile feel of the device is just brilliant! * Matte glass * Very cool haptic module, the vibration from it is just super * Support and updates until the end of 2022 * Battery. If it is critically important - it's better not to choose this device. However, the issue can be resolved by turning off unused functions and using power banks, so it depends on personal preference... * According to user reviews, after more than a year of active use, paint starts to peel off the buttons and some edges of the frame. * Using speakers at maximum volume can gradually wear down the earpiece speaker. * The 64GB model - just criminally low storage. Better to look for a 128GB option. * Some smart functions do not work in Russia or in the Russian language. * The processor does not support AptX Adaptive and LL, which will be the most sought-after codecs in the next couple of years. |
The year was 2020 and Pixel released a phone with a 2800 mAh battery. 2800, Carl!)) Camera, compact sizes. Battery, no mini jack, no fingerprint scanner, if you accidentally sit on it, it can bend like older iPhone models. |
Reference smartphone according to Google
Google has been having a hard time with the Pixel line lately. The smartphone, which was supposed to be a role model, a kind of Superman on Android, in fact, regularly suffers from minor flaws. The new Pixel 4 is no exception. On the one hand, this is an unusually compact model (the screen is only 5.7", you can control it with one hand), with powerful hardware, pure Android, a waterproof case and one of the best cameras on the market. On the other hand, it costs a little cheaper than the flagships from Samsung and Huawei, but in many ways inferior to them.
Dual Camera with Neural Processor for Image Processing
Externally, the new Pixel resembles the new iPhone Pro, only instead of a notch cutout at the top, there is a rather plump frame, and the main camera on the back looks more neat. Interestingly, this is the first smartphone of the series, which has not a single, but a dual camera with optical and electronic image stabilization, phase detection autofocus and advanced software algorithms and the Pixel Neural Core neural processor. In general, we can say that Pixel 4, according to the DxOMark resource, takes excellent pictures, like any modern flagship, but still lags behind top competitors. Although it costs less than the same Galaxy Note 10. But it shoots the best video — rather on par with the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. Well, the night shooting mode is a song here.
Compact and beautiful
The Pixel 4 features a high-quality 5.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. These screens are great for gaming. The matrix supports HDR, Always On and Ambient EQ modes, which automatically adjusts brightness and colour reproduction, depending on the ambient light. The hardware part is top-end, but with reservations. On the one hand, the most powerful Snapdragon 855 is used as a processor, on the other hand, only 6 GB of RAM. While many competitors have 8 or even 12 GB for this money. Although, let's be honest, at the moment even 6 GB seems like overkill. Plus, the internal storage is only 64 GB and there is no memory card slot. Although, there is a 128 GB version of the smartphone.
Buy PowerBank
And now it's fly in the ointment time. The first portion — the Pixel 4 has a battery of only 2800 mAh! Even cheap models from Xiaomi do not allow themselves this. Yes, the OLED matrix consumes battery resources economically, but you will most likely have to carry a PowerBank with you. Well, or sit near the outlet, as in the good old days. The second point is that Google removed the fingerprint scanner for some reason. Which, again, costs in any smartphone from $100. Yes, instead of it there is a rather advanced facial recognition system, but as the practice of hacking the iPhone has shown, it is still far from the simplest fingerprint scanner. Well, at least they didn’t forget about NFC with fast charging.

Bought for 7100 UAH in white (unfortunately, the orange is more expensive)... and you can find it even cheaper.
Opted for the smaller one because the XL wasn't as cheap, hence the decision.
In terms of downsides - only the battery, and still a drawback - the lack of some functionality in the system compared to the same miui.
