The third generation Pixel in XL format retained the features of its predecessor (Google Pixel 2 XL), along with which it acquired an enlarged 6.3-inch diagonal display. Fortunately, the screen has lost its children's sores (colour inversion and pixel burn-in when a static image is displayed for a long time), but it has grown a very large “bangs”. OLED display

The substrate for the display was an OLED matrix with an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9, the image on which is displayed at a maximum resolution of 2960x1440 pixels. The screen features of the device include support for HDR technologies and Always On Display, the latter showing not only the time, date and notifications, but also the name of the audio track being played when listening to music. An important feature of the display is the function of enhancing the saturation of colours with the expansion of the colour gamut of the "triangle" sRGB by about 10%. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

Sensitive edges

The assembly of the third "Googlephone" has been set up at the production facilities of HTC. The smartphones of the Taiwanese brand had another interesting “feature” – sensitive side faces. They respond to pressure by performing a predefined action (such as calling Google Assistance).

Stock Android

Under the hood, the Google Pixel 3 XL has a high-performance bundle of the 845th dragon, Adreno 630 graphics and 4 GB of RAM. The amount of “RAM”, by the standards of other flagships, is not enough here, but you need to make allowances for stock Android, and always the latest version — software updates from the Good Corporation “arrive” on Pixel among the first. With a significant reserve of power for the future, the smartphone has no performance problems, including when working in "heavy" applications.

Photographic talent

True to tradition, the device again uses a single main camera module with a resolution of 12.2 MP. But what! Thanks to him, the model takes the lead in the leading ratings of mobile cameras. The main photo module has an optical image stabilization system and fast Dual Pixel PDAF autofocus. Also, the camera puts into practice the principles of machine learning to obtain the highest quality result. Things are even more interesting with the front camera — it looks at the world around it with two “eyes” with different focal lengths (28 mm and 19 mm, respectively). The model is also supported by IP68 protection, fast charging of a 3430 mAh battery and the provision of unlimited cloud storage for photos, which, in the light of the lack of a memory expansion slot, is of particular relevance.
