An entry-level graphics adapter from the NVIDIA Ampere series, designed for budget gaming systems and demanding multimedia tasks. The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3050 WINDFORCE OC 6G is equipped with a GA106 GPU with 2304 CUDA cores and a maximum frequency of 1477 MHz, with a memory buffer limited to a rather modest 6 GB by 2024 standards, and a 96-bit bus width. Despite the release of the Ampere architecture in 2022, this WINDFORCE series modification was released in 2024 and is positioned by the manufacturer as a replacement for the still popular but rapidly aging GeForce 1050/1060/1650/1660/2060 video adapters.
The model is primarily aimed at budget-conscious gamers who plan to play at resolutions no higher than 1080p and are willing to sacrifice graphics quality for smoother frame rates if necessary. Like all members of the Ampere family, it supports the DLSS 2 artificial image scaling function, which allows for improved gaming performance at low FPS levels. It can also be useful for users who need a compact and energy-efficient graphics card for small systems. The interface set includes a pair of HDMI 2.1 and a pair of DisplayPort 1.4a. Additionally, it supports NVIDIA Reflex and NVIDIA Broadcast technologies: the former helps minimize latency in games, while the latter offers tools to enhance audio and video quality, including noise reduction and virtual background inclusion during streams.
