Safety platform

— a special platform used in the bench press. Such a platform is not used by the athlete, but by an assistant who insures the athlete during the exercise. It is more convenient to stand on a safety platform than on the floor: firstly, it is slightly raised above the floor, and secondly, the surface of the platform is corrugated, which prevents slipping.
