Independent design

— the independent design is found on benches equipped with a barbell rack (see the relevant paragraph). This feature means that the actual bench can be used separately from the rack. The specific implementation of such a function may be different: in some models, the support for the bar and the bench are completely separate items, in others, the bench can be disconnected from the simulator. However, an independent design allows you to perform exercises that are inaccessible to non-separable models — for example, use a squat rack with a barbell, where a bench would seriously interfere.
