Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 EF-S III

Inexpensive zoom lens used as a stock lens for Canon SLR cameras with an APS-C sensor. In full frame equivalent, the model covers the popular focal length range from 29mm to 88mm. The aperture of the lens is modest and “floating”: in the wide-angle position, its maximum value is f / 3.5, at the maximum approximation - f / 5.6. There is no stabilizer in the design of the Canon 18-55mm f / 3.5-5.6 EF-S III.

But there is an automatic focusing drive. The lens is focused from a distance of 25 cm from the plane of the camera matrix. On the body of the model there is a focus mode switch "AF / MF". Note that manually focusing is very inconvenient due to the narrow size of the focusing ring near the front rim of the lens. 58mm filters can be used with this versatile zoom, but the front element of the lens rotates and moves back and forth. The optical formula of the model is primitive - 11 elements in 9 groups with one aspherical lens. The diaphragm here is 6-bladed. The lens has almost identical body dimensions in diameter and length (69x70 mm), it weighs about 200 g.
