An affordable alternative to L-series zoom lenses, which have a universal set of focal lengths of 24-70 mm and a constant aperture of f / 2.8. Yes, the model in question has a slightly narrower angle of view at the short end, but it turned out to be light (less than half a kilogram) and affordable for a wide range. The lens is sharpened for shooting a variety of everyday scenes.

It is supposed to be used together with full-frame mirrorless Canon cameras. The optical formula of the model has 15 elements in 12 groups, among which two lenses with extra-low dispersion to suppress chromatic aberrations and two aspherical "glasses" stand out. The STM stepping motor is responsible for fast and silent autofocus, and the model also has a built-in image stabilizer. The stabilizer is designed for 5.5 stops on its own and up to 7.5 stops when used in conjunction with matrix stabilization systems on board the corresponding cameras.
