One of the relatively affordable full-size ATX motherboards based on the 2020 flagship Intel Z490 chipset. The manufacturer is positioning itself as a model of the middle price category, designed to create configurations of high-performance gaming and overclocking systems based on processors with an LGA 1200 socket. It can become a reliable basis for an entry-level or mid-level workstation.
Guaranteed compatible with 2/4/6/8/10-core 10th Gen Intel Core i9/i7/i5/i3/Pentium/Celeron (Comet Lake, 14nm) processors. Fully supports overclocking of K-series CPU and RAM. A powerful digital 10-phase power subsystem is quite capable of ensuring stable operation of the system with a significant overclocking of the processor (without an extreme increase in supply voltages). The ASRock Z490 Pro4 motherboard is equipped with 4 DIMM slots and supports up to 128GB DDR4 RAM in dual-channel mode.
Such an impressive volume is more than enough for any games and resource-intensive professional tasks. The board is equipped with two M.2 connectors for installing high-speed NVMe SSD drives and 6 ports for SATA3 devices. Fast processing of network traffic with minimal latency is provided by the built-in GbE adapter Intel I219V. For high-quality sound output, an 8-channel Realtek ALC1200 audio subsystem with an improved analogue path is used.

Stay vigilant! The silliest waste of money! The model is not suitable for use with processors intended for overclocking! The manufacturer completely misleads you about the consumer qualities of this model! For its price, there are no merits. If this piece of textolite cost 3 times cheaper, then the merits could include a relatively rich number of interfaces and the Z490 chipset... 1. On any processor intended for overclocking (i.e., from i5 10600k and above), when setting a normal overclock mode, which other motherboards handle without issues, this model experiences temperatures of 90+ degrees, accompanied by throttling, decreasing core frequency, and system crashes. The first drawback alone is more than enough to forget about this model like a bad dream, but for completeness, I will list other shortcomings of this unfortunate motherboard: 2. The LAN controller driver does not install automatically: as a result, when installing Windows, you are left without internet and without a way to download the driver without going through a hassle. The driver is available on the company's website, but how to install it without internet is not entirely clear – unnecessary problems that could be critical for someone! 3. There are constantly several undefined devices in the device manager, for which the drivers do not install! Possibly a defect specific to mine, but I'm speaking about what I have encountered! |
