Such batteries are noticeably larger than the popular AA, AAA and PP3, and they are mainly used in devices with increased requirements for power or capacity of energy sources. Thus, this type of power supply is an unmistakable sign of an advanced multifunctional multimeter, which has rather large dimensions and is designed more for a desktop than a portable format. Many of these devices are insulation testers (see "Device"); and the number of used C batteries in some models can be up to 12.
