Transistor test

— the presence in the device of a special mode for testing transistors (as well as, usually, a special connector for three standard transistor contacts). This mode is simpler and more convenient than checking with an ohmmeter — it allows you to determine the performance of a part literally in one measurement (whereas you will have to take several measurements with an ohmmeter), and it can also provide the determination of individual operating parameters of the transistor.

Note that usually the ability to check is most often limited to traditional pnp and npn bipolar transistors; for both of these types, separate sets of connectors can be provided. The ability to work with field-effect transistors is extremely rare.
