In general, power from replaceable cells (of any size) allows the device to work independently of sockets and quickly change dead batteries for fresh ones. In particular, AA batteries are extremely popular nowadays, they are widely used in various devices and sold everywhere — both in the form of disposable batteries and in the form of rechargeable batteries. At the same time, this is a relatively rare option in multimeters — “little finger” AA and 9-volt “Crowns” are more popular.
