Diode test

— the presence in the device of a special mode for testing diodes. When operating in this mode, the device not only determines the operability of the diode (that is, its ability to pass current in only one direction), but also the like. Forward voltage drop is the lowest voltage at which a diode begins to pass current when operating in the forward direction. In general, this method of verification is more convenient than impromptu methods such as the ohmmeter mode or the "continuity" of the circuit (see the relevant paragraph).
