— clasp in the form of a buckle on one of the halves of the strap; the second half, which has a set of holes, is threaded through this buckle when fastening and is fixed with a pin placed in one of the holes, as well as with special loops. At the same time, depending on “which hole to fasten”, the size of the bracelet changes — due to which you can adjust it in size almost on the go, with a minimum of effort.Technically, these fasteners are applicable only with soft materials. However, on the market you can find models with bracelets made of plastic and even steel, for which the presence of a buckle is claimed. In the first case, we are talking about a solid bracelet made of flexible plastic, similar in properties to rubber; in the second, about a combined design, where the main part of the bracelet is made of metal, and the area near the clasp is made of leather.
Note that in addition to this type of fasteners, soft straps can also be equipped with clips. However buckles are used much more often — due to the low cost, reliability of fixation and maximum ease of adjustment in size (in clip-on earrings this adjustment is much more complicated, it may require special tools). On the other hand, clip-ons have their advantages. So, they are easier to fasten / unfasten, and also somewhat stronger and more durable. In addition, the pin in the buckle mentioned above protrudes somewhat above the strap and, under an unfortunate set of circumstances, can catch on to something (the probability of this is extremely small, but still there). Clips are deprived of this shortcoming.
