Mechanical self-wind watch
prices on 485 modelsSelf-winding
— a mechanism that winds a mechanical watch by moving the user's hand. For this, a special plate is usually used, installed inside the case; when the watch fluctuates (for example, when walking or vigorous gestures), it rotates, winding the spring. Thus, it is possible to significantly increase the operating time between manual windings — up to the point that the watch can generally "live" the entire period of operation, winding only automatically. However, note that with a passive lifestyle, this function becomes practically useless. In quartz watches, a similar device is called kinetic (see "Source of movement"); however, such a device in our catalog is not considered self-winding.
