Under the banner of the Photon series, there are not quite typical computer power supplies for gamers who are trying to sit on two chairs at once. The manufacturer’s idea is to produce high-quality products at the 80+Bronze or 80+Gold level, but at the same time save on the quality certificates themselves. And the money saved will be used to implement complex lighting. Usually these things go hand in hand, which is why the cost of a typical 750W gold PSU with RGB lighting can easily exceed $150.

All Photon series PSUs include several visual special effects that can be activated using a separate button or configured in the appropriate software. In addition, the LED subsystem can be connected to the motherboard and synchronized with it using an ARGB cable. Naturally, the PSU can be connected to already installed RGB-backlit components, combining them using any popular synchronization system (Asus Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, ASRock Polychrome Sync and Gigabyte RGB Fusion).

In total, there are 2 power supplies in the Photon series, both of which have a limited power choice of 650 or 750 W. The regular Chieftec Photon uses a reliable hardware platform from CWT with group voltage stabilization, which provides efficiency in the region of 85% with high stability of output voltages and a wide main power line. This model is approximately 80+Bronze. Well, the more expensive Photon Gold is a step higher (90% efficiency, higher quality turntable, etc.) and, as its name suggests, meets the gold standard of quality.
