Even during the presentation of the first iPads, Steve Jobs secretly dreamed that in the future tablets would replace low-power netbooks and become a serious alternative to laptops. The only problem was the lack of a keyboard, without which serious work is out of the question. As a result, many manufacturers of peripherals have taken a quest to design the perfect keyboard for a tablet. Such that it was convenient to print on it, so that it did not take up much space in the bag, easily attached to the tablet and at the same time worked for more than one year. One of the few companies that successfully completed this quest was Logitech with its Ultrathin and Folio mobile keyboard lines.

And if Ultrathin models eventually fell by the wayside of history, Folio keyboard cases have become somewhat of an industrial standard. The most current model is the Folio Touch, released in 2020, which is a slightly more affordable alternative to the Apple Magic Keyboard. This is a keyboard-case-stand with a good built–in touchpad, which is attached to the iPad Pro 2018 – 2020 with the help of branded smart connectors. Like the Surface Pro case, it is sheathed with a pleasant to the touch, wear-resistant, dirt-resistant fabric material. Plus, the bending base allows you to use Folio Touch as a multifunctional tablet stand.

Earlier Folio models are designed for classic iPad and iPad Air models. In general, these are simpler keyboards that connect to the tablet via Bluetooth, lack a built-in touchpad and are more like classic keyboard stands. That is, it is quite convenient to work for them, but they do not pretend to be a full-fledged laptop replacement. Unlike the Folio Touch + iPad Pro bundle mentioned above. As for the models, over the years of the existence of the Folio series, several diverse modifications have been released in it: a thin Slim Folio Pro with backlight, a reliable Rugged Folio and a universal Universal Folio with sliding clips for the display.
