Competitor
The camera is designed to seriously compete with full-frame mirrors (for example, Nikon D610 and Canon EOS 6D) and it does it to the fullest. Judging by the numerous reviews, the Sony Alpha A7 even outdoes the available full-frame DSLRs in detail and produces an even quieter picture at high ISO values. But its main advantage is miniature dimensions and weight. 474 g for a full-frame camera has always been considered an unrealistic figure. Given the small size of mirrorless optics, after a day of shooting, your neck will say “thank you”.
Hybrid autofocus
A 24.3-megapixel sensor with an anti-moir filter beats in the camera's chest. In addition to contrasting focus points, phase sensors are placed directly on the matrix, making focus very fast. However not always accurate. In conditions of insufficient lighting (at concerts, in dark rooms), autofocus may fidget and not cling to the subject. With enough light, this problem does not arise.
Functionality
In fact, the camera has only one minor drawback — the low responsiveness. But the first of its kind camera is forgivable. Moreover, it offers great functionality in a compact bottle.
