Samsung is confidently holding the leading position in the foldable smartphone market, and the 2023 Galaxy Fold5 model is an excellent confirmation of this.
Gradual improvement
The Galaxy Fold5 is a minor upgrade over its predecessor, the Galaxy Fold4. The new model features an improved internal screen design and a more powerful processor. Otherwise, the changes are minimal, which is explained by the successful implementation of the previous line. The smartphone is powered by an eight-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in UFS 4.0 memory.
Key Screens
The main focus of the device is on the screens: the external screen is 6.2 inches with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel and a resolution of 2316x904 pixels, the internal screen is 7.6 inches with a similar matrix, the resolution of which is 2176x1818 pixels. Both displays support a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The flexible screen is compatible with the S Pen, which is purchased separately.
Variety of cameras
The Samsung Galaxy Fold5 is equipped with an impressive set of cameras. The smartphone has a triple main photo module with a resolution of 50 + 12 + 10 MP, which includes a stabilized main sensor, an ultra-wide and a telephoto lens with optical stabilization. In addition, the device has a 10 MP front camera on the external display and a 4 MP selfie camera under the screen. The main purpose of the front camera on the inner panel is video calls.
Fully equipped
The smartphone is equipped with high-quality stereo speakers, a side fingerprint scanner, and reliable water protection according to the IPX8 standard. The device is powered by a 4400 mAh battery, which provides a full day of work. The battery supports fast wired and two-way wireless charging. However, the charging adapter must be purchased separately, as it is not included in the standard package.
