One of the performant overclocker models of MSI motherboards based on the 2018 top chipset Intel Z390. It is a well-equipped MSI Performance Gaming Series ATX board that fully supports 2-, 4-, 6-, 8- and 10-core Intel Core i9/i7/i5/i3, Pentium and Celeron 8th and 9th series th generation with Coffee Lake microarchitecture (14 nm). Equipped with a reliable 11-phase processor power subsystem with additional aluminium heatsinks.
The MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON motherboard is designed to assemble high-performance gaming configurations. May be of interest to enthusiasts, suitable for building top-end multiGPU systems (two steel-reinforced PCI-E Gen 3.0 slots with support for Nvidia 2-Way SLI and AMD CrossFire 3-Way CrossFire technologies). Supports basic and advanced overclocking functions that are necessary for fine-tuning the operation parameters of key system elements.
It can work for a long time under load with a significant overclocking of the CPU and RAM (without an extreme increase in the supply voltage). Supports up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM with an effective clock speed of up to 4400MHz. Able to simultaneously work with two high-speed NVMe M.2 SSD drives (one with a heatsink for passive cooling). There are 15 USB ports for connecting peripheral devices, including 5xUSB 3.2 Gen2 (2xType-C).

Capable of overclocking the Core i9-9900
The MSI MPG Z390 CARBON motherboard is part of the Performance Gaming line and is positioned by the manufacturer as a near-top product. The board is designed for gamers with a tight wallet, who, on the one hand, want to get a high result like a full-fledged overclocking of the Core i9-9900, but at the same time do not want to overpay for frankly overclocking products.
Powerful power subsystem
Coolness manifests itself in the quality of electronics that can provide the necessary overclocking. So, the EPS12V and ATX12V connectors are responsible for supplying power to the processor, the number of power phases has been increased to 11 pcs, and massive cooling radiators can be found on the power circuits. Thanks to this, the card supports any desktop Core 8th and 9th generation processors, DDR4 RAM with an operating frequency of 4400 MHz, and is also friendly with any bundles of video cards, including 2-Way SLI and 3-Way CrossFire.
Extensive Connectivity
From the connectivity options, you can highlight numerous USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports (including USB-C), a pair of M.2 interfaces (one and cooling), an excellent sound subsystem with the Realtek ALC1220P-VB2 codec and an optical input, reinforced connectors for video cards, a high-quality network controller from Intel with the ability to prioritize traffic and a fairly advanced lighting system using MSI's proprietary Mystic Light Sync utility.
