A miniature micro-ATX motherboard designed for use with AMD Ryzen 7000/8000/9000 series processors equipped with the new generation AM5 socket, which AMD brought to the market at the end of 2022. The model belongs to the entry-level and is part of the Prime line, most of which are simple mass-market solutions with limited options for assembly, overclocking and additional features.
Asus PRIME A620M-A-CSM is equipped with an entry-level AMD A620 chipset, which supports all the basic features of Ryzen 7000/8000/9000 series processors, but does not provide overclocking capabilities. At the same time, the use of a 10-phase power converter opens up opportunities for using pre-top multi-core Ryzen 7 processors, which can automatically overclock without any restrictions in terms of power consumption.
Regarding the slot layout, the board supports installation of up to four DDR5 memory modules with a frequency of up to 7200 MHz (O.C.) and operates in a dual-channel configuration with a maximum capacity of up to 192 GB. For quick setup and optimization of RAM, support for EXPO technology is declared. Among the expansion slots, there is one PCIe 4.0 x16 for a video card and one PCIe 3.0 x1 for additional cards. Drives can be connected via one M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for NVMe SSD and four SATA 6 Gbps ports. The network controller from Realtek supports a gigabit Internet connection. For direct connection to a monitor (when using a processor with an integrated GPU), the board's arsenal includes modern HDMI and DisplayPort outputs of the latest versions.
