There's nothing like watching Navy sailors disembark for their leave on land, at least that's what we've heard from the old-timers that lived during the age of the Navy. We're not going to lie. Clowns give us the heebie-jeebies. There's something about their oversized shoes and rainbow attire, along with their crazy large painted facial features that more→just give us the willies. Ever since we've been kids, we've avoided circus clowns.
There is an exception, however. We're okay with Pierrot Clowns. What's that you ask? Well, we will gladly tell you. Pierrot clowns come from the traditional theater that is Commedia dell'arte. We're talking acting troupes in Europe from the 16th-18th centuries. These theatrical troupes used witty words and pantomime to put on plays and sketches. Each character had a highly stylized costume so you could tell exactly wh
