Wok stand

— special stand for wok-type frying pans; found exclusively on gas burners (electric burners are not able to provide the intense heat required for cooking in such a pan). Typically, such a stand has the form of a specific ring, raised relative to the main grate; sometimes the ring can be supplemented with “horns” protrusions for greater reliability. Anyway, the meaning of such equipment lies in the fact that wok pans are hemispherical in shape with a very small flat bottom, or even without it. Because of this, such dishes are very unstable on a conventional grate. The stand also reduces the risk of knocking over the pan. However, note that burners with this function are poorly suited for classic dishes with a flat bottom. So it makes sense to specifically look for a model with a stand if you initially plan to cook a lot in a wok.
