Glass ceramics

— in general, glass ceramics have resistance to high temperatures, and good thermal conductivity, but somewhat lower strength than enamel and steel, although higher than tempered glass, as well as a rather high cost. The features of glass ceramics hobs differ depending on whether they are used with electric or gas heaters. In the first case, the burners are placed under a flat glass ceramic surface, which makes it easier to move the dishes between them and clean the surface (although the spilt liquid will spread over it without obstacles). In the second, glass ceramic is located under the gas burners, and the design of such a surface is similar to any other of the gas ones.
