Hobs with steel grates

— the advantages of steel grates are their low cost and rather an elegant appearance: they are thinner than cast-iron ones, and they have a smooth coating of heat-resistant enamel. On the other hand, steel is less reliable and less resistant to heavy loads (it can bend under heavy dishes), and the enamel coating becomes covered with scratches and chips over time. It is also undesirable to clean it with abrasive products. Because of this, steel grates are characteristic mainly for relatively inexpensive hobs, although there are exceptions.
