USB-C for charging
— the presence of a USB-C connector in the cordless tool, designed to charge the battery.The idea of this connector is primarily to expand the possibilities for charging the battery. A tool with this function usually comes with a USB to USB-C cable, which allows you to use an extensive list of energy sources: network and car adapters, power bank batteries, and even USB ports in PCs and laptops. In fact, you can charge a tool with this feature from any USB port; thus, many models are not equipped with a charger at all — only a cable. At the same time, this cable can, if desired, be replaced with any other wire with the same connectors.
Recall that microUSB plays a similar role (see the relevant paragraph). USB-C is a newer type of connector, it is more convenient (due to the reversible design) and provides more charging power. However, this power is still small by the standards of a cordless tool, so this charging method is also found mainly among screwdrivers.
