This charging time is comparable to the actual runtime of many models on a single battery charge. Therefore, having two batteries (a very popular configuration) and the ability to charge one battery while using the other allows for near-continuous operation: while one battery is in use, the other is charging. Even in devices with non-removable batteries (see "Battery in set"), this feature significantly eases the user's experience by reducing downtime.
